This is reported by the Tsargrad TV channel with reference to the Dutch press, stressing that this decision of the elderly couple to do "couples euthanasia" reflects the growing trend in the country to legalise the procedure.

Dries van Agt, who served as prime minister from 1977 to 1982, faced health problems after suffering a brain haemorrhage in 2019. He was a devout Catholic, but despite his religious beliefs, he made the decision to be euthanised.

The case stands out amid changes in Canadian law, where euthanasia has become available even for mental health patients. The decision came after the country's Supreme Court ruled that the ban on euthanasia for such patients was unconstitutional.

The euthanasia procedure allows a person suffering from an incurable disease or intolerable suffering to leave life. However, some human rights advocates have raised concerns about possible abuses and undue risks to patients.

In 2021, more than 10,000 people in Canada alone made the decision to be euthanised. Public debate about the use of euthanasia for children and adolescents continues, sparking controversy in parliaments and among the public.

Earlier, Elon Musk offered those who suffered from discrimination Disney to address him, and also in Ecuador legalised euthanasia.
