This year actor Robert Downey Jr. received the long-awaited Oscar statuette for his role in the movie "Oppenheimer".

The 58-year-old actor experienced incredible happiness from the deserved recognition and now cherishes the award, not letting it out of his hands even in bed.

The day before, he shared footage on social network, where he showed how he meets the next morning after the ceremony.

The star published a snapshot in which he appeared before fans in luxurious attire, with a cup of coffee in one hand and his long-awaited statuette in the other.

"A day of happiness," the actor signed the shot.

Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. has already been nominated for an Oscar, but then the statuette passed him by.

Recall, the biopic "Oppenheimer", telling about the creator of the American atomic bomb Robert Oppenheimer, won the "Oscar" as the best film, as well as six more nominations.

The third part of the Hollywood blockbuster "Sherlock Holmes" with Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law, will begin filming only by the end of 2022.
