Experts are concerned about the high mortality rate from antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
The World Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is concerned about the growing mortality rate from bacteria that have developed resistance to antibiotics. Thus, according to WAP, it exceeds deaths from cancer, HIV, and malaria. In 2019, for example, four bacteria killed 975,000 people.
Among the bacteria that caused the deaths were Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Campylobacter and Salmonella nonspecific, the organization specified. All of them have been found on industrial farms.
According to experts, the bacteria have developed resistance to antibiotics because of the excessive use of this type of drugs on farms. As a result, the organization believes that by 2050, due to resistance to antibiotics, mortality will increase and will reach 2 million cases per year.
