Chinese company Hisense is looking for a place in St. Petersburg to build a home appliance manufacturing plant

It is reported that Russians know the brand primarily for TV sets and air conditioners.

The Chinese company Hisense plans to launch localized production of household appliances and electronics in St. Petersburg, Kirill Polyakov, vice-governor of the city, said in his Telegram channel.

According to the official, Hisense is known to Russian consumers primarily for its wide range of TVs and air conditioning systems. The company is considering investment options in the economy of St. Petersburg and is already looking for a suitable site for its future production.

Hisense was founded in 1969 and currently exports its products to more than 160 countries and regions. It also owns 29 industrial parks located in various countries including China, Czech Republic, South Africa, USA, and others. In addition, the company has 20 R&D centers around the world.

Hisense has long held a leading position in the TV market in China, leading sales in the country for the past 14 years. The company has also been among the top 5 manufacturers of air conditioning systems in Russia for the past three years, the company's website says.

Recall that earlier in St. Petersburg universities raised tuition prices.
