Petersburg was not included in the rating of leaders in the development of industry and trade, despite the statements of the governor Alexander Beglov. He argued that the city was performing well.
RIA Rating agency prepared a bulletin "Social and economic situation of the regions of the Russian Federation", which revealed ten leading regions in the field of industry, construction, trade and other types of economic and financial activities. Strangely enough, the Northern capital is not on the list. According to the data for 9 months of 2021, the leaders of the rating were Moscow, Primorsky Krai and Alania.
At the same time, Governor Alexander Beglov recently reported that the city is showing steady growth and the industrial production index has increased, as well as investments in the manufacturing industry. However, the published rating only confirms that the growth dynamics announced by Beglov is insignificant. Otherwise, St. Petersburg would not have lost its place in the top of the Kostroma, Kursk and Saratov regions.
