A suspect in the arson of four cars on Desantnikov Street was taken into custody in St. Petersburg, according to the press service of the city and Leningrad Oblast Department of Internal Affairs. At the same time the man has already previously had a prison sentence after a similar episode.
According to the police of the northern capital, in the evening hours of Sunday, May 7, in the department of the Interior Ministry in the Krasnoselsky area received a call from an eyewitness, who reported the fire on Desantnikov Street. Further police noted traces of arson on four more cars, including "UAZ 22069-04", "Renault Duster", "UAZ Patriot" and "Peugeot 408". No victims were found as a result of the events. A rag soaked in flammable fuel was also found at the scene.
Then, on the same day, law enforcement officers arrested a 58-year-old resident of St. Petersburg on suspicion of criminal charges of intentional destruction or damage to property under Part 2 Article 167 of the Criminal Code. It is reported that the man has already been previously convicted under the same article. Now he should choose a measure of restraint.
