Large shopping centers in St. Petersburg continue to lose customers. July was not an exception. According to analysts, attendance of shopping centers dropped by 30%.
Valery Trushin, head of research and consulting, partner of IPG.Estate, explains the decline in consumer interest by the departure of foreign brands. In large shopping centers foreign companies were a kind of anchor and points of attraction for St. Petersburg residents. With their departure, shoppers no longer need to visit the malls.
Things are different for shopping centers of the format " near the home ". Their customers have other demands and motives for visiting them. Therefore, in this sector the attendance rate dropped only by 3%.
