Greece has promised to send a large shipment of weapons to Ukraine via the Czech Republic.
The tranche will include two thousand five-inch Zuni missiles, 180 anti-tank missiles, 90 thousand 90-millimeter shells used in anti-tank warfare and anti-aircraft weapons, as well as 70 M114A1 self-propelled howitzers, writes the Greek publication Kathimerini.
The delivery has already been agreed within the European Union. Czech and Greek authorities are negotiating the prices for these systems, and then a bilateral agreement will be signed. Greece has already provided anti-aircraft missile systems and sent Soviet-made BMP-1 tracked infantry fighting vehicles.
Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias will attend a meeting of NATO members and other countries providing arms to Ukraine in Germany next week. He is expected to reiterate Greece 's position that Ukraine should be helped to survive the difficult spring, the newspaper said.
