The building of the diplomatic mission is located in Grocholsky Lane in the capital.
The embassy of the Donetsk People's Republic started its work in the Meshchansky district of the capital in Grokholsky Lane. The flags of the DPR and Russia were raised at the opening ceremony. Natalia Nikonorova, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR, introduced the republic's ambassador to Russia, Olga Makeeva.
Initially, the opening ceremony had been planned, but it was postponed because of the night-time shelling of Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson region by the Ukrainian armed forces on July 12. Seven people died in the attack and dozens were injured.
