An amazing and rare event took place off the coast of Australia: a whale literally collided with a surfer during his training.
According to the Daily Mail, 55-year-old Jason Breen is skilled in the art of wingsurfing and was practicing it near the coastal waters of a Sydney suburb. He had a special symmetrical wing in his hands and it was this wing that presumably attracted the whale's attention. Suddenly, the whale swam up and leapt out of the water, hitting the man with the board. The whole amazing moment was captured on video as Jason captured his workout on a GoPro camera.
"Keith just hit me," Breen said on the recording.
Surprisingly, the surfer was able to avoid serious injury, although the situation could have turned out differently. The rope that connected his foot to the board got caught on the whale, and it even dragged Jason a little deeper underwater. The man admits that he was beginning to think he was done for, but suddenly he felt the rope snap.
Nevertheless, despite this incredible episode, Jason Breen emphasized that the whale attack will not stop him to continue to study the ocean surface.
