96 people have been detained in Istanbul for forcing tourists to pay for services with violence and deceit

The perpetrators practiced overcharging foreigners at entertainment establishments, as well as subsequent threats of physical violence and blackmail.

According to TELE1, Turkish authorities detained 96 people. It is known that the criminals systematically attacked tourists. Part of the criminal cases has already been transferred to the courts.

It is known that raids of law enforcement agencies of Turkey were held in 13 provinces of Istanbul. Police actions were of a large-scale nature and took place simultaneously in the most criminogenic administrative districts.

According to the testimonies of the victims, the attackers took away wallets and smartphones from some tourists after they refused to pay their bills. In several cases there was physical violence against foreign citizens.

Earlier it became known that in Turkey law enforcers detained the internationally wanted drug lord Ramadan.
