The press service of the California State Police informed that a local resident who was helping ducks cross the road was killed under the wheels of a car.
According to the agency, the man wanted to move a brood of birds caught in a busy intersection in Rocklin. The volunteer wanted to help the animals cross the highway, but was hit by a passenger car at the same time.
The 17-year-old girl was driving the car that hit the man. It is noteworthy that the ducks were not injured in the accident. The perpetrator of the tragedy remained at the scene.
Currently, the police are clarifying all the circumstances of the incident in order to give a legal assessment of the incident. Preliminarily, the authorities will not charge the girl with the death of the man.
