Experts in the insurance sector commented on the situation with the warehouse complex of the largest retailer destroyed by fire.
According to RBC sources, Wildberries warehouse in Shushary in St. Petersburg was not insured. Prior to the incident that occurred on January 13, the company had been negotiating with one of the leading insurance companies, but the matter never reached the final stage of signing an agreement, the informants said. However, the goods are still covered by insurance, but the premises themselves are not.
The official representative of Wildberries informed that the company will not disclose information about the insurance of assets, but confirmed that all the goods destroyed by the flames were insured.
Recall that the Wildberries warehouse in Shushary caught fire on the area of 70 000 sq.m. January 13. The fire was extinguished only on January 14. The insurer estimated the approximate damage from the fire element in 10-11 billion rubles.
Earlier it became known that in Moscow in the office of the company Wildberries is being checked in connection with the fire at the warehouse in Shushary.
