The helicopter crash occurred on December 14 at about 12:35 local time. The ship crashed eastward at the Bonnet-Carré-Spilway Bridge. There was only a pilot on board. Currently, the proceedings on the fact of the incident are conducted by the US Federal Aviation Administration and the National Security Council.
The accident caused a temporary blocking of traffic on the highway. During the fall the ship damaged power lines, without light remained about 20 thousand residents of nearby settlements. The power supply was restored on the same day.
