The Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Survey of the Russian Academy of Sciences specified the details of the seismic event.
According to RIA Novosti, the tremors were recorded in the waters of the Avacha Gulf. The epicentres of the two earthquakes were localised not far from each other. The magnitude of the first was 4.4, and the second - 4.8.
The source of earth surface vibrations in the first case was located 129 kilometres from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and in the second - 136 kilometres from the city respectively, seismologists specified.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations has not noted any consequences of the earthquake in the region's settlements. There is no threat of tsunami. Information about victims, victims and destruction in the emergency services of the region did not arrive.
