The relatives of the 17-year-old who was shot and killed by a police officer on June 27 in the Parisian suburb of Nanterre have protested the collection of funds in favor of the family of the policeman.
According to the RMC radio station, the lawyer of the victim filed a complaint to the Paris prosecutor against the right-wing politician Jean Messia, accusing the latter of organized fraud and concealing it.
The human rights defender said in the petition that Messia had illegally disclosed information about the murdered teenager's past offenses and made him look like a "recidivist." The lawyer also expressed doubts that the funds raised would actually go to the cop's family.
If the prosecutor's office can prove guilt of fraud, concealment of a crime and illegal use of police data, he could face imprisonment of up to five years or a fine of 300 000 euros for each of the episodes.
Previously, it became known that the far-right publicist Messia on the platform Gofundme collected in favor of the family of a police officer from Nanterre more than 1.5 million euros.
It should be recalled that the reason for the riots in France was the murder by a police officer of a 17-year-old teenager of Algerian origin in the Parisian suburb of Nanterre.
Earlier, the media reported that there was an incident in Tel Aviv in which a civilian shot and killed a man.
