Cod liver contains high amounts of fish oil.
Cod liver has been recognized as one of the most useful seafood products. According to Rospotrebnadzor expert Marina Vershinia, the product is 66% fish oil. As a result, 100 g of cod liver can provide four and a half daily norms of vitamin A, half of the daily norm of vitamin E and 20% of the daily norm of vitamin D.
Deficiency of these vitamins leads to inflammatory diseases, the expert recalled. In addition, the lack of vitamins A, D and E causes premature aging of the skin.
However, said Vershinina, cod liver is quite a caloric product, so it should be consumed with a suitable garnish, for example, with cereals, whole-grain bread, vegetables and greens.
Earlier, experts named the permissible norm of E. coli content in caviar.
