A group of British medical and charitable executives told Sky News that if authorities did not act, the monkeypox outbreak could turn into a pandemic in Britain and last for months.

Dr. John McSorley, former president of the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV, urged authorities to increase vaccines and distribute them efficiently. He believes the virus could pester Britons for the rest of the year.

The British health agency has already said that it does not have enough vaccines, and the National Health Service is responsible for this.

Earlier, virologist Alexander Chepurnov explained what signs can be used to determine if a person is infected with monkeypox.
