EU countries can cope with gas shortages thanks to the industrial crisis. The corresponding statement was made by Bloomberg columnist Javier Blas.
According to the author of the article, European energy-intensive companies have found themselves in a situation where they are forced to close down or reduce production against the backdrop of rising energy prices.
"The production crisis that has engulfed the continent is the best antidote to gas shortages. With friends like that, who needs enemies?" - Blas wonders.
The journalist tells about the forecast made by experts of Morgan Stanley bank: in general, the volume of gas demand on the continent will be 15% below the average for the last five years.
Summarizing, Blas says that the EU countries will face a serious decline in the manufacturing sector and a long-term loss of economic growth, which will be a kind of payment for salvation from the energy crisis.
Earlier Bloomberg wrote that Germany may face gas shortages in the next five years.
