The Russian government has temporarily set quotas on imports of certain types of seeds from unfriendly countries. The restrictions will last until the end of this year. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. This is reported on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
It is allowed to import seeds of wheat, rye, barley, soya beans, corn, sugar beet, sunflower, potatoes into Russia until the end of 2024 only within the established quotas.
The total volume will be 33.1 thousand tonnes. It was calculated by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation taking into account the needs of Russian seed growers and taking into account the balance of domestic exports, imports of seeds and their production.
