According to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), in March 2024, the PRC held a 33% share of total global auto sales, totaling 8.15 million units.
In the first quarter of 2024, 21.05 million vehicles were sold worldwide, up 3% year-on-year.
Toyota models remain the sales leaders, followed by Volkswagen and Hyundai. Geely was the only Chinese automaker in the top 10, with sales of 738,400 vehicles in the first quarter of 2024.
Other major exporters from China such as BYD, SAIC, Chery and Great Wall Motor also played a significant role in the global market.
Earlier, sales of the Oka analog started in China. Also in Russia, sales of new cars have grown significantly. Also, the import of foreign cars through Vladivostok has reached its full volume.
