The Lamborghini Diablo supercar that belonged to former US President Donald Trump was sold at auction for an impressive $1.1 million, making it the most expensive car in its class. The information was provided by the Barrett-Jackson auction house, noting that the unique body colour and the history of the famous owner significantly influenced the value of the car.
Donald Trump ordered this Diablo VT Roadster from Lamborghini in 1997, and although the then-new Blu Le Mans colour was not offered for this model, the company agreed to an exception to the rule. Thus, a one-of-a-kind Diablo painted in a unique hue was created for the future president.
This Diablo VT Roadster is powered by a 5.7-litre V12 engine producing 492 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque. The unit is paired with a five-speed manual transmission, allowing the supercar to accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.
Donald Trump owned this exclusive car from 1997 to 2002, after which it changed two owners. At the last auction Diablo VT Roadster with a mileage of 40 thousand kilometres was sold for an impressive amount of 1.1 million dollars, which is many times higher than the proposed price in 2016, which was only 460 thousand dollars.
Earlier in the Russian Federation, seven car brands fell sharply in price, and LADA Granta returned two popular body colours.
